Kerin Scott, Ponce Dining Hall
"The secret of greatness isn’t BIG — it’s the little things our great people do." This quote reflects the heart of my work, both as a former teacher and now as a proud member of the Dining Hall team. Whether I’m creating a candy tree to brighten Welcome Week or simply sharing a kind word at the food station, I believe it’s the small, thoughtful moments that make the biggest impact. In the classroom, I knew it wasn’t just about what I taught, it was about what students carried with them long after they left. I bring that same mindset to my current role, finding joy in the conversations and connections that help students feel seen, supported, and uplifted. I’m grateful to be part of a team that values these moments and excited for another year of helping students feel at home, one smile at a time.
Denise and Joe Maypray, Ponce Dining Hall
This beloved mother-daughter duo has been part of the Flagler Dining family for a combined 11 years. Ms. Denise (right) first joined us as the vegan chef, winning over students with every delicious, thoughtful meal she prepared. Today, you’ll find her leading the kitchen or supervising the entire dining operation. Ms. Joe (left) became a familiar and friendly face at the cashier stand, greeting everyone by name and brightening their day with her smile. Ms. Denise and Ms. Joe both are treasured members of the Aramark team, serving as true “den mothers” to students and staff alike.
